Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a real 90s mood. A mood which involved all of us running home from school, loosening our ties, diving in front of the telly and watching the much-loved titular witch get zapped into questionable outfits in the opening credits of every episode.

We loved the light-hearted trials and tribulations of balancing school with, well, being a teenage witch. Salem the talking cat, aunts Helda and Zelda, and cheeseball cookie-cutter school crush Harvey (aka “Farmboy”). But as posters and teasers for the long-awaited Netflix reboot have slowly been unveiled by Archie Comics (the minds behind the comics inspiring the show and also Riverdale), it’s confirmation that it will be a lot darker than the show we once knew.

Now, we already know that Wonderland babes Kiernan Shipka and Ross Lynch will take on Sabrina and Harvey, plus Netflix have confirmed that the show will be “tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist.” *Gulps*

What else do we know? “The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina The Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft.”

The official images have also dropped, giving us major American Horror Story: Coven vibes, with Kiernan Shipka knelt in the woods barefoot in a silk slip. Another picture sees her in a red duffel coat, clutching a wooden stick (or is it a broom?).

Netflix has now also announced that the all 10 episodes will drop on the streaming service on 26 October. Just in time for Halloween. Obviously.
