Ready to feel old? It’s been 15 years (that’s right, 15!) since Kelis dropped the instantly iconic “Milkshake” in August in 2003 and, let’s be honest, it was a #moment.

But for Gen Z, who unfortunately may not have been blessed with dancing to the original bop in its heyday, Kelis has teamed up with UK-based producer-to-the-stars Freejak to give it a bit of a revamp. Infusing Freejak’s signature sound of twisted-house and bass-infused production, Kelis recorded some brand new vocals for it making it a whole new, fresh vibe.

“’Milkshake’ has been an important part of my career and it’s still fun all these years later.” Kelis says. “When I heard the remake from Freejak, I felt it was a dope version I could get behind. I had lots of fun re-recording the original vocal and re-introducing the song to a whole new generation.”
