Riccardo Tisci is still getting comfortable on his new luxury check throne, but the recently appointed chief creative officer of Burberry is already causing a stir with his latest Instagram announcement, revealing that the British house will be collaborating with design icon Vivienne Westwood.

Dropping in December after Tisci’s debut Burberry collection, what we’ll get is a re-imagined line of iconic styles, no doubt all with Burberry’s British heritage stamp. There’s no telling at the moment how much of Westwood’s signature punk leanings will be incorporated, but Tisci has expressed his excitement on social media.

“Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself and when I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something. She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together,” reads Tisci’s Instagram.

The captions accompany images of Tisci, with Westwood and Andreas Kronthaler, Westwood’s husband and creative director.

The final image reads: “Long live Dame Vivienne! #therealqueen”

Hear, hear.
