MIU MIU CLUB

Miuccia Prada gives us some serious girl power.

It’s a known fact that Joan of Arc was a badass. A symbol of the transgressive woman, as guests walked into the Hôtel Regina in Paris on Saturday, they saw a reproduction of Emmanuel Frémiet’s iconic gilded bronze equestrian statue of her before them. And it truly set the scene for the evening, as Miuccia Prada showed us a fresh take on badass femininity.

With the room decked out by six-time Academy Award nominated and BAFTA award winning production designer Sarah Greenwood, whose work you may know from Sherlock Holmes, Atonement and the live-action Beauty and the Beast, to name a few, it really was a night to remember. “This is an occasion to celebrate the freedom, camaraderie and vivacity that embodies the spirit of Miu Miu,” notes Greenwood, who describes Joan of Arc as “the original feminist, a young woman’s voice who still resonates today – pop punk over classical.”

Strutting their stuff down the runway was also an eclectic mix of badass women including Naomi Campbell, Alexa Chung, Gwendoline Christie, Okay Kaya, Jaime King, Chloë Sevigny and Uma Thurman. Maximum girl power, am I right?
