WONDERLIST

Our fave songs around right now.

Childish Gambino – “This Is America”

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this weekend, you’ll already be aware that Childish Gambino returned with his fantastic new track “This Is America”. Accompanied by a politically-charged and visually stunning video full of symbolism and allusions to race and gun violence, this once again proves that Donald Glover is miles ahead of the game and a true artist set to wow with whatever he does next.

Spring King – “Animal”

Back with their first new song in almost two years, Spring King dropped snarling new track “Animal” and holy shit it’s a banger. Talking about the song, frontman and drummer Tarek Musa says, “’Animal’ takes its inspiration from our unshakable reliance on technology and how repetitive modern day existence has become. There is constant tension between human nature and technological progression: we are glued to technology, sometimes not sure how to let go, whilst simultaneously fighting the animalistic, hedonistic urge to unplug and completely lose ourselves.”

Sports Team – “Kutchner”

Sports Team are set to become your new faves. Releasing their latest track “Kutchner” – an off-kilter love song told through our favourite mid-00s MTV star similes – the follow up to their “Winter Nets” EP is just as brilliant as you were hoping and further proof why Sports Team are gonna make it big. And no, we’re not punking you when we say that.

Hotel Lux – “Daddy”

Back with a growling new number, Portsmouth quintet Hotel Lux have released “Daddy” and we can’t stop listening to it. Inspired by the 2000 Paulsgrove anti-peadophile riots, the lyrics are biting and unflinching, and show off why Hotel Lux are a band you should be paying attention to.

Zuzu – “Beauty Queen”

Giving us the first taste of what we can expect from her upcoming debut EP “Made on Earth by Humans”, Liverpool-based Zuzu has dropped sunshine-soaked banger “Beauty Queen”. Witty and wonderful, this 23 year old is clearly set for greatness and we can’t wait for the EP to drop next month.

Christina Aguilera – “Accelerate”

XTINA IS BACK! Dropping her comeback single “Accelerate”, it’s our first sneak peek at what will be her first album in nearly six years. A change from what we normally associate with Xtina, “Accelerate” is a glitchy bop that we’re going to be dancing to non-stop until Liberation is released.
