We’ve got your May and June weekends sorted.

The sun is out, the Tesco offers on crates of Strongbow are in full force and everyone on your Twitter feed is frantically trying to learn new AM lyrics from that 10 second clip on Instagram. It can only mean one thing. Yes, festival season is officially approaching and we’re so excited it’s almost (almost) distracting us enough to stop trying to work out wtf The 1975 are up to…

So we’re going to push past trying to decipher their website labyrinth for now and focus on the fact that some of our fave festivals are literally right around the corner. Seriously. We can almost smell the warm cider and excitement. And without further ado, here is the first instalment of our 2018 Festival Guide and a run down of all the places you’ll find us every weekend in May and June this year…

Live At Leeds

When? May 5th

Where? Leeds (shock, I know)

Why? The perf start to festival season, LAL have a brilliant mix of exciting new bands playing as well as some bigger names for full sing-a-long opportunities.

What faves can you see? The Vaccines, Peace and The Magic Gang.

Our must-see set: Idles @ Dr Martens Stage, 12pm. Absolute scenes guaranteed.

The Great Escape

When? May 17th – 19th

Where? Various venues around Brighton

Why? It’s “Europe’s leading festival for new music” and it’s right next to the beach. What more could you want?

What faves can you see? Pale Waves, Her’s and Mahalia.

Our must-see set: Jimothy Lacoste @ Komedia, 1:15am. Issa vibe.

All Points East

When? May 25th – 27th

Where? Victoria Park, London

Why? It’s the first year that this fest is taking place and the line-up is so good it hurts when you look directly at it…

What faves can you see? Literally all of them.

Our must-see set: Björk @ Main Stage, Sunday headliner. It’s gonna get weird.

Love Saves The Day

When? May 26th – 27th

Where? Bristol

Why? Best cider. Best atmos. Best insta-worthy sights.

What faves can you see? Tom Misch, Fatboy Slim and Sampha.

Our must-see set: Loyle Carner @ Main Stage, Sunday. If you’re not already in love with Loyle Carner, there’s something seriously wrong with you.

Primavera Sound

When? May 30th – June 3rd

Where? Barcelona

Why? Consistently championed as the best festival of the year, the line-up (and sunny weather) always delivers.

What faves can you see? SO MANY including Lorde, The Blaze and Tyler, The Creator.

Our must-see set: ARCTIC FUCKING MONKEYS OBVIOUSLY

Field Day

When? 1st – 2nd June

Where? Brockwell Park, London

Why? It may have moved home, but the fact that it’s London’s most exciting festival hasn’t changed.

What faves can you see? Princess Nokia, Ross From Friends and IAMDDB.

Our must-see set: Erykah Badu @ Eat Your Own Ears Stage, Friday. Get ready to bow in the presence of greatness.

Park Life

When? 9th – 10th June

Where? Manchester

Why? Our fave Northern festival is always one of the wildest weekends of the year. Grab your mates and your tickets now. As you were.

What faves can you see? Sigrid, Vince Staples and Skepta.

Our must-see set: N.E.R.D. @ Main Stage. Start learning the dance to “Lemon” now…

Isle of Wight

When? 21st – 24th June

Where? Isle of Wight

Why? Well firstly you get to go on a ferry, which is always fun, and secondly IOF creates its own little world that is always exhilaratingly fun and full of the best bands around.

What faves can you see? Camila Cabello, The Killers and Tom Grennan.

Our must-see set: Neil Rodgers & Chic, Friday. Guaranteed to be hit after hit after hit.

Secret Solstice

When? 21st – 24th June

Where? Rekyavík

Why? Set in beautiful Iceland, this fest shows the best Icelandic bands around as well as a few international names to give something for everyone.

What faves can you see? J Hus, Dream Wife and Fever Dream.

Our must-see set: Stormzy. Because, y’know, it’s Stormzy.

Love International

When? 27th June – 4th July

Where? Croatia

Why? The whole place is breathtakingly beautiful and the line-up always bangs. Bonus, so many boat parties you can finally show off the fact you know all the words to that “I’m On A Boat” song.

What faves can you see? Ben UFO, Horse Meat Disco and Avalon Emerson.

Our must-see set: Four Tet 4evaaaaa.
