POSTURING: COCO CAPITàN

Ground Floor Project taps the artist for new short, “Learning to transcend the physical body”.

Following on from their incredible photography exhibition that launched in London last month (more on that here), Ground Floor Project’s Holly Hay and Shonagh Marshall – backed once again by The Outnet – used the recent Art Basel Miami to release the latest offering from their stylish initiative: a new short that further explores the body.

Directed by acclaimed artist and Gucci fave Coco Capitàn, the film, entitled “Learning to transcend the physical body”, follows the exaggerated versions of real life people – film printer John McCarthy, painter Frances Wilks, model and actor Hugh Laughton, and performance artist Candela Capitán – and explores the ways that our physical embodiments often get in the way of our dreams and aspirations. Hashtag relatable.

A beautiful short and an exciting glimpse at what the duo can do, hopefully this is the start of even more exciting things to come in the new year. And, hey, where else are you gonna find tips on how to transcend the physical body, eh?
