The dating gurus tell us what we’re doing wrong.
Ok, so you’re attractive, smart and funny – so why are you still single?
This may surprise you, but the reason why you’re still single has nothing to do with your intelligence or appearance. Nor your lame dad jokes or your dress sense. In fact, it’s down to five simple things, which luckily you can change very quickly.
Here are these honest reasons as to why you’re still single:
1. You’re using the wrong dating app
Yeah Tinder is great but have you used Huggle? Huggle is a little different to the likes of Tinder and Bumble, because it matches you with people who go to the places you go to. Huggle not only helps you to discover people who share your interests and lifestyle, it also shows you how many mutual places you have with someone, which is great if you’re look for compatibility.
2. You aren’t clear about what you want
We’re not suggesting you propose on your first date but we do think you need to make it clear early on to the person you’re dating with, that you’re looking to settle down and not hook up. If you’re looking for someone who likes unicorns, cat cafes and doing pottery on the weekend then you also need to make that clear. Huggle (the dating app we previously just spoke about) is amazing for helping you to get across who you are and what you want. If you want to date a like-minded soul, then use Huggle.
If you walk into a relationship expecting to take, take, take. You’ll find yourself very single, very soon. You need to know what you “bring to the table” and you need to own that knowledge and provide it. Relationships are not a one-way street and if you’re not ready to compromise or give, then perhaps it’s best to stay single until you are ready to “give”.
4. You have unrealistic expectations
There is no such thing as “the perfect person” and if you think there is, then you’re going to be single forever. Instead of limiting yourself to only dating the type you think you should date, go on a date with someone who has an amazing personality. Yes this sounds very cliche, we know! But it’s better to be with someone who treats you right and makes you laugh, than someone you think is great “on paper”.
5. You value your independence
You’re constantly busy and have an amazing social life, so it may just be that you don’t have time for a relationship. If you enjoy your freedom and are not ready to commit to someone else, then that’s abosolutely fine. As long as you are happy, that’s all that matters!
