17 is a difficult age. You don’t really know what to do, you’re still relying on that dodgy fake ID, and sometimes it all feels a bit too much; indie pop quartet JAWS know this. Channelling these feelings in their beautiful track “17”, taken from last year’s second album Simplicity, as vocalist Connor Schofield sings “don’t wanna feel like this at 17”, it calls back to those difficult times many of us experience growing up. A completely dreamy track, its beauty is found in its minimalism, highlighting Connor’s mesmerising vocals and gorgeous tones.

Releasing the video today, the black and white visuals tell the story of the song, with a haunting physical representation of the “beast on [your] back” that Connor mentions in the first line. A chilling short with a poignant message, it’s a stunning vid that expertly illustrates the message of the track and the difficulties that many people face.
