PREMIERE: MR WA7T – “SAY U DON’T LOVE SOMEBODY” FEAT. ROTHWELL

Let’s hear about heartache.

Having separated from the other half of electro-pop duo I Am A Camera, Northern Irish MR WA7T is going it alone and his debut EP “Vada” blends a myriad of genres to demonstrate his varying talent as a producer and songwriter.

His latest track “Say U Don’t Love Somebody” features upcoming artist Rothwell whose soothing dreaminess echoes that of Namuli and Tanika who retrospectively feature on the tracks “Bleed for This” and “X.T.C”. MR WA7T’s pop influence remains evident in “Say U Don’t Love Somebody” which describes the melancholic feeling of falling out of love and the difficulty of letting someone go. The combination of MR WA7T’s relatable lyrics – “deep down I know, if I stay then you’ll go” – with Rothwell’s richly toned voice draws listeners into an empathic reverie.

The track’s video shows Rothwell performing whilst staring straight into the camera, echoing the conversational quality in the lyrics and blurring the boundary between personal and shared experience. MR WA7T has remixed for artists like Beyoncé and Lana Del Rey and his own track promises to leave listeners craving more.
