PREMIERE: PEAKES – “SPACE”

The pop trio drop a mesmerising new vid.

In the run up to their debut EP dropping tomorrow, sultry pop babes PEAKES are releasing a gorgeous new vid to title track “Space”. Made up of Molly Puckering, Maxwell Shirley and Pete Redshaw, the trio formed whilst studying at Leeds and have gone on to craft beautifully cinematic pop songs, sure to be highlighted in the forthcoming EP.

Now putting out their first music video, the three piece recruited Fiona Jane Burgess to direct the stunning vid. Mirroring PEAKES’ story detailing the difficulty people often have in relationships, Fiona echoes this idea in the poignant visuals. Speaking about her inspiration she says, “When I think about ‘space’ I think about where I grew up in the Lake District. With this video I wanted to highlight the paradox of what can feel like a very claustrophobic lifestyle living in a small rural town compared with the expansive landscape surrounding you. I wanted to show how tiny and insignificant we are in comparison to the vast landscape of the Lake District. With this video I was interested in subverting the image of the macho adolescent teenager and instead show a supportive, vulnerable side to their characters. I wanted the dance to show an intimacy between two young men who could otherwise be perceived as aggressive or intimidating.”
