Announced today, Miu Miu has introduced the Miu Run sneaker for AW17, a fun play between sporty function and feminine aesthetic. With a characteristically light hearted and irreverent design, the new model is available in two different styles, with both sharing a micro-vaporized sole and a textured band moulded with micro-stars.

The first variation of the Miu Run features a tongue-free ‘ghillies’ lacing system with decorative loops instead of eyelets, first popularised in the 1920s with the emergence of female sportswear. The upper of the design comprises of an internal black neoprene sock, and is covered with silver glitter or a lurex floral cloqué in delicate pastel shades.

The second meanwhile is a slip-on variation, with a slightly sleeker aesthetic, available in a black, aluminium or nude techno-stretch material. Here the design is entirely lace-free and fastens to the foot with two silk-covered adjustment straps embellished with large crystals.
