WONDERLIST

The songs you should be listening to.

Mahalia – “Hold On” feat. Buddy

Rising star Mahalia just dropped her beaut new song “Hold On” and it’s gonna make you love her even more. The R&B tinged track delves into the Leicester-born singer’s thoughts about rekindling with a childhood sweetheart and in her own words she describes it as “a tune that needed to come out of me for a long time and it finally did when I stumbled upon an old flame of mine in my home town.” Recruiting Compton rapper Buddy to give the guy’s perspective, it’s a nostalgia-drenched banger that you’re gonna want to hear over and over again.

San Scout – “You Instead”

With a track that will make you feel all the #feels, Freddie Clough and Jonny Woodley are back under their San Scout moniker with an emotive low-fi pop number. Blissful and beautiful, it’s one of those perfect post-night out emotional Uber ride home songs (you know the ones I mean). Grab the tissues, and have a good cathartic cry along now.

Django Django – “Tic Tac Toe”

Spoiling us this week, Django Django announced their new album and have given us a taste of what’s to come. Dropping “Tic Tac Toe” last week, it’s the first look at the group’s third album, Marble Skies, which follows their critically acclaimed 2015 record, Born Under Saturn. A psychedelic art-rock offering, we can’t wait to see what other greats they have in store.

Sleigh Bells – “And Saints”

Ahead of the release of their upcoming mini-album, Kid Kruschev, Sleigh Bells are turning things down a notch in the best kinda way. Dropping the chilled out, synth soaked “And Saints”, the dreamy track shows a more laid back side to the pop duo. Having only just released their record Jessica Rabbit last year, Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss are showing no signs of slowing down, and we love it.

Shama – “Truth BeTold”

You’re about to get goosebumps, seriously. Releasing the title track to her upcoming album, “Truth BeTold” is the haunting new track from Shama. With stunning melodies and a dream-like vibe, Shama switches between English and French vocals throughout the track to always keep us on our toes. An absolutely gorgeous track, prepare to have it stuck with you long after you’ve finished listening.

ODESZA – “Across The Room” feat. Leon Bridges

Clayton Knight and Harrison Mills, otherwise known as ODESZA, are bringing the chills with new track “Across The Room”. Featuring the incredible Leon Bridges, the dance duo’s latest collab dives into soulful territories to create a stunning track that will make you smile as soon as you hear it. Releasing the equally beaut video last week, we follow Bridges around a backyard BBQ and it’s pretty much certain to make you wanna pick up the phone and call home immediately.

Fickle Friends – “Hard To Be Myself”

Brighton-based indie-pop darlings, Fickle Friends, are back with a banger. Full of hypnotising hooks that you can’t help but dance to, “Hard To Be Myself” is yet another example of why Fickle Friends are one of the best bands around at the moment. Speaking on the track, front woman Natti Shiner says: “’Hard To Be Myself’ is a song about social awkwardness and anxiety. Wanting to be someone else so desperately, dreaming you were the life of the party. It’s the idea that a certain person can kinda loosen your senses and lower your inhibitions just like drinking alcohol.”

Poppy Ajudha – “Spilling into You” feat. Kojey Radical

South London singer Poppy Ajudha is about to become your new fave. Dropping new track “Spilling Into You”, her stunning jazz vocals explore life and relationships with a strikingly raw tone. Teaming up with Kojey Radical, the beautiful track is reflected in the aesthetically awe-inspiring video, which highlights a collective of creatives who inspire Ajudha. We’re slightly obsessed.

Hamilton Leithauser – “Heartstruck (Wild Hunger)” feat. Angel Olson

Cinematic and stunning, “Heartstruck (Wild Hunger)” sees Hamilton Leithauser at his best. Recruiting Angel Olsen, it’s his first piece of new music since his critically acclaimed collab album with Rostam Batmanglij, I Had A Dream That You Were Mine. With soaring orchestration and fiery passion, it’s bold and brilliant and we’re going to be playing it on repeat for a long, long time.

Benny Mails – “Senses” feat. Art Daley

In the run up to the release of his debut mixtape, Benny Mails has put out another fantastic track. Featuring Art Daley, “Senses” once again highlights the South Londoner as a creative force to be reckoned with. As his laid back flow glides over the captivating backing, if you’re not excited for the mixtape yet there’s something seriously wrong with you.
