MAISON LOUIS VUITTON VENDôME

The house returns to its roots with its latest Parisian store opening.

For those of you lucky enough to be in Paris ATM, it’s time to get excited: Louis Vuitton is opening a brand new store tomorrow – 4 October – and it’s offering the most luxe shopping experience, like, ever. With couture, Ready-to-Wear, jewellery, watchmaking, leather goods, shoes, fragrances, accessories, and artisanal workshops (pause to take a breath) all under one roof, it’s a one-stop shop for everything that your heart could possibly desire, apart from maybe a pain au chocolat…

Situated in the Place Vendôme, a neighbourhood that throughout history has homed couturiers and princesses alike, the new store marks a sentimental return to the very same streets where a young Vuitton honed his craft and opened his first store in 1854. The building itself is a dreamy example of the quintessentially Parisian architecture that we all know and love. Originally designed and built by the very same man responsible for the Château of Versailles, Jules Hardouin-Mansart, and updated by distinguished architect, Peter Marino, this place is basically a contemporary palace for fashion royalty.

As to be expected, the Maison is impeccably decorated, not only with the fashion house’s exquisite range of products, but also with a selection of 33 contemporary artworks that perfectly complement the building’s aesthetic. Expect to see vintage trunks beside masterpieces by the international artists such as Laurent Grasso and Paul Nabulumo Namarinjmak.

As if this wasn’t enough, the store’s spotlight on contemporary art will coincide with a preview launch of the second chapter of house’s collaboration with . On the store’s opening, a new painting from the artist’s Gazing Ball series will be unveiled, alongside new pieces from the Koons collaboration. If you didn’t manage to bag yourself a Da Vinci Speedy earlier this year, here’s a second chance to get your hands on another set of covetable releases.
