Julien Macdonald’s love affair with sequins and mesh sees no sign of waning. Loyal to his philosophy, the designer’s SS18 collection showcased looks that were as futuristic as they were jaw-dropping. The star of the runway? Alessandra Ambrosio, who strutted down the catwalk at this week’s show in a sapphire blue “Utopia” dress created in collaboration with everyone’s fave luxe vodka label, CÎROC.

The satin and sequins of the CÎROC dress are the kind to sparkle under catwalk appropriate dim light, while elsewhere the frock boasts intricate beadwork, crystal mesh and lace. Taking inspo from his recent trips to the Amazonian rainforest, Julien Macdonald envisioned “elegant, strong and body confident women” when crafting the piece.

As would be expected from a sophisticated vodka brand, the CÎROC dress – paired with slick straight hair and smokey eyes – made for the ultimate club vibe. Of its wearer, Macdonald noted post-show: “She embodies the powerful, independent women I dress and CÎROC represents the luxury lifestyle we all aspire to.”
