Dropping the new video to “Damned Eye See”, rising North London songwriter Chelou is proving himself to be one of the most exciting artists around atm. The lo-fi chilled out track mixes samples and poignant songwriting to create a song that will whisk you away to dreamlike places.

“For me, the track’s about all the doom and gloom we seem to be surrounded by at the moment in the news and on social media etc.” Chelou says of the track and accompanying video. “I wanted the character to go on a little journey being chased by all this stuff, some good and some bad with him finding at least some kind of solace in the end.”

Recruiting London-based animator Jesse Collett to create the video, the audience follows a ghost like figure through a slightly trippy world. Created using a combination of drawn animation with live action footage of small scale model environments in U.V. light, the beautiful video only works to highlight the equally as beautiful song.
