Teaming up with Brit photographer Mick Rock, Gucci has journeyed to Rome for its latest Cruise 2018 collection campaign.
Aptly named Roman Rhapsody (Queen fans rejoice!), alongside a series of classic studio shots the campaign features the subjects in their own homes and gardens, exploring the lives of a whole host of diverse characters who perfectly present the fashion house’s latest garms.
The assignment was easy work for Rock, the celebrated lensman who made his name photographing rock’n’roll’s finest throughout the latter part of the 20th century, collaborating with the likes of Blondie, Iggy Pop and perhaps most famously, David Bowie. “What helped a lot is the fact that I got constant stimulation from the clothes,” the photographer says of the project. “Because they’re so fabulous, and they’re colourful. And then of course there’s the personality of Alessandro, who’s an open, giving force!”
Naturally, the campaign has us adding all-things-Gucci to our wish list.
