NYFW: JEREMY SCOTT SS18

The designer celebrates his 20th year in style.

Birthday Boy

Friday night’s Jeremy Scott show was one of those NYFW moments not to miss (soz if you did), as the Wonderland fave celebrated two decades of his namesake label. With an out-of-this-world collection delving into the last 20 years, Scott brought back some of his most memorable looks, including the iconic tee from his fifth ad campaign in 1999 (the one with the graffiti printed “Viva Avant Garde” slogan, pictured above adorning Wonderbabe Jourdan Dunn). A true career highlight, the show ended with a standing ovation accompanied by an explosion of silver confetti, as all anniversary parties should…

Neon Dreams

Celebrations aside, a recurring theme throughout the line-up were bold and beautiful colours: bright neon was the best. A callback to the palettes of earlier collections, pretty much every colour you could ever think of hyped up to the max made a cameo. Creating a playful vibe, as per JS tradition, a fun-filled and fantastic showcase presented the perfected pop-art style the American designer excels in while other standout looks included pieces covered in sequins and huge fake gems, or “body jewellery” as Scott calls them. We’re obsessed.

A-List Guestlist

To have a great party, you have to have great guests, and Scott certainly did. With a front row that glittered with celebs, A-listers including Paris and Nicky Hilton, Courtney Love, Lourdes Leon and Lionel Richie came out to join in. An added cause of celebration for Richie, his daughter (and former Wonderland cover star!) Sofia hit the runway looking amazing, obvs, in an incredibly blinged out outfit.

Let the shopping list making commence.
