PLAYLIST: ANNA STRAKER

The synth sensation on the songs that have shaped her.

Fresh off of dropping the sound of our summer with new track “Ignite Me”, London based “synth princess”, Anna Straker, is spoiling us with a playlist of her fave songs. Taking her incredible track’s title as inspiration, the list is compiled of all the hottest songs that Anna loves – so take a listen!

Sister Sledge – “Thinking of You” (Dimitri From Paris Remix)

This is the perfect starter to any party. It honestly fills me with joyous delicious disco vibes!

Eve feat. Gwen Stefani – “Let Me Blow Ya Mind”

I used to make my mum play this in the car on the way to school every morning. Pure nostalgia.

Todd Terje – “Inspector Norse”

The first time I heard this song was during Todd’s set at Field Day festival a couple years ago. My best friends took me there (I’d never heard his music before) and he played this song. Incredible drag queens pranced around on stage, the pink sun was setting on such a beautiful warm day in London and it couldn’t have been a better moment. Can’t stop listening to this track because it just brings me back to that every time!

Fatima Yamaha – “Araya”

Fire emoji worthy.

Mall Grab – “I’ve Always Liked Grime”

I saw Mall Grab at Fabric recently and my friend Angus had broken his elbow a few weeks before. When he played this tune at the end of his set Angus took his arm out of his sling so he could properly dance. Must be a good song haha!

Jamie xx – “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) feat. Young Thug, Popcaan

This album (In Colour) was literally my soundtrack to my 2015.

Underworld – “Rez”

Every party NEEDS an acid bassline. Anything Daniel Avery will also suffice.

Stardust – “Music Sounds Better with You”

Heard this at Dekmantel festival at a Palms Trax set. Dancing in the Dutch sun! Fun fact: this song samples Chaka Khan’s “Fate” (another banger).

Armand Van Helden feat. Duane Harden – “You Don’t Know Me”

BEST. BOILER. ROOM. EVER.

Murlo – “Into Mist”

We threw too many parties in the living room of my old flat. This song would 100% guarantee to set the party alight!
