PREMIERE: KRRUM – “EVIL TWIN”

Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and Boy George walk into a dance studio…

Exciting electronic pairing Krrum first came together at Leeds College of Music when lead songwriter and producer Alex met vocalist Harrison. Drawing influence from bands like Gorillaz and Metronomy, the duo began by fusing electronics with booming ska-esque brass to create Krrum’s signature unique pop sound that has since seen them storm to the number one spot on various viral charts.

Now dropping the visuals to latest track “Evil Twin”, Alex describes the song as “toying with the duality of wanting to be healthy, productive and find some long term stability, but also wanting to throw that all away and indulge your vices. Individually they are comforting but are always competing with each other to come out.” The accompanying video, below, takes this fairly dark theme and turns it on its head as we see a bunch of celebs but not quite how we’d expect. Starring Britney, Michael Jackson, Boy George and Nicki Minaj lookalikes, throughout the Camille Summers-Valli directed video they all take their turn auditioning for Alex with their own rendition of the track.

Fun and fantastic, it’s an exciting glimpse into Alex and Harrison’s creative minds and, hey, now we know who to contact to find that MJ impersonator we’ve been looking for…
