Inspired by illustrations of fictional birds, fish, and animals found in medieval English manuscripts, Burberry this week introduces the latest collection to be hatched in its design studio, Burberry Beasts. At the core of the collection are an array of small and large leather goods – cross-body bags, clutches, totes, rucksacks, and key charms – that either take the shape of a beast or feature an appliqué or print.

In Ready to Wear, creatures have been embroidered onto the brand’s classic cashmere scarves, while leather appliqué embellishes jersey sweaters and capes. The collection features a mix of the brand’s signature materials – of course including the house check cotton – offset here by a palette of olive greens, blues and coral reds.
