GOSHA RUBCHINSKIY × BURBERRY

The new collab debuted last night in Saint Petersburg.

Kappa, Vans, Fila, Burberry? Indeed, last night the iconic fashion house was introduced as the latest brand to collaborate with Russian fashion designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, joining a line-up that to date has been more prominently drawn to sport and skate labels that riff on perhaps more familiar territory.

“Burberry has always symbolised the epitome of classic British style to me,” explained the multimedia artist after his Friday night show in Saint Petersburg, where the partnership made its debut. “Their timeless pieces are the perfect balance to our modern streetwear creating a mix.”

Comprised of eight pieces – amongst them new interpretations of house classics such as the Burberry trench coat and other signature outerwear; shirts, hats (a further collab with milliner Stephen Jones) and shorts too – the SS18 capsule collection won’t drop until January, but no doubt hypebeasts are already salivating. Or maybe that’s just us?

Notes Burberry’s Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Bailey of the hook up: “I have been a big supporter and admirer of Gosha’s creative work for a long time. He has an innate cultural sensibility and I was honoured when he asked us to collaborate together for his new collection.”
