Following the release of jazz tinged melodies “Funny How” and “Daylight” comes Sun Drift’s second extended release. Imbued with a quaint charm which manages to be both endearingly archaic and intrinsically modern, “Outside” combines Sun Drift’s penchant for 60’s pop with the heart-breaking honesty of songwriters such as Elliot Smith and Chris Bell.
Fronted by Lancashire born Zac Barfoot who wrote, produced, recorded and mixed the entirety of the musical output, Sun Drift is a project grounded in nature, ruralism and the comforting familiarity of home. In his own words: “’Outside’ is an EP, that I hope is a continuation from my previous material. I was really aiming to create an atmosphere with most of the song that could, in a way, take listeners to a different space or time in their heads.”
