PRADA PRESENTS ENCOUNTERS

The house taps Willy Vanderperre for Pre-Fall 2017.

Lensed by Willy Vanderperre, today marks the arrival of Prada’s Pre-Fall 2017 campaign, its third instalment of 365, a concept introduced back in January that rejects traditional fashion advertising in favour of something multi-faceted; a series of narratives that display various interpretations of the house’s seasonal offerings, if you will.

For Pre-Fall this means tapping the models Selena Forrest, Kris Grikaite and Nina Gulien for a five-piece visual story that captures the models in a dream home setting (“not theirs, not ours, but some home” explain the press notes), open fire, carefully aligned bookcase, display owl, and all.

Titled ‘Encounters’ and boasting an accompanying short – here – the new campaign embraces an intimate approach, showcasing the new faces in a casual, non-posed pose situation which reflects ‘a fundamental inspiration’ behind the Prada Pre-Fall 2017 collection. Here, as Miuccia presents women wearing her wares as opposed to women being worn by her wares, the notion of ‘reality, normality and honesty’ is king.
