Taking their name from the place that they first met, BIRTHDAY is Kamran and Luka’s newest project. And now, they have released their incredible debut single on Wedidit/Tombstone, “What You Give To Me”, along with the accompanying video, to truly establish themselves as a double act to watch.
A dreamy and fuzzy indie-pop tune, the track mixes stunning vocals with nostalgic production to create a low-fi hit. The additional visuals, starring Luka’s lovely cat, were brought to life by Berlin-based Felix Aaron. Describing the video, he says, “I drew my inspiration from 80’s B-horror-movies, starring a modern femme fatale trying to harvest young men in a Dario Argento-dark ritual kind of vibe. As the visual aesthetic of the video is more like a modern interpretation of this topic, we join the young woman contacting her victims online, luring them with her looks, alcohol and weed to take them back to her lonely cabin outside the city.”
