MR. BURBERRY EAU DE PARFUM

Josh Whitehouse fronts the new campaign.

Switching his leather jacket and bellbottoms for a suave tuxedo and bowtie situation, British actor Josh Whitehouse has scored a second gig with Burberry, tapped as the face of its latest Mr. Burberry drop.

The Northern Soul actor – whose CV also reads ‘frontman of London band More Like Trees’ – wears slimfit mohair, handmade silk and, presumably, a dab either side of the house’s new Mr. Burberry Eau de Parfum in the campaign, pictured above, the follow up chapter to last year’s initial Eau du Toilette release.

A collaboration between Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer and perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, the scent has been inspired by the ‘anticipation of London at night’; naturally it sides on the warm, sensual and woody. “London at night is like a new city,” offers Whitehouse of his adopted home, “more romantic, full of fun and flair. It’s when people are out to dress up or relax and have a good time, but the hustle and bustle of all walks of life are still around you.”

An homage to the black Heritage Trench Coat, a hint of which makes a cameo above, the perfume’s bottle is a bold interpretation of masculinity, while details such as the weighted cap reference the coat’s horn-like buttons.
