REEBOK CLASSIC × FUTURE

The pair deliver new Zoku Runner model with a bang.

First tapped by the brand last July, Future has since partnered with Reebok Classic on two releases; a ‘Freenbandz’ capsule line that saw the pair deliver a strong apparel led collection in late September, and shortly after, the Instapump Fury ‘Overbranded’, a black and white footwear model subtly debuted several times by the rapper in concert.

For the duo’s third drop, something arguably bigger, brighter and better; the Reebok Classic Zoku Runner. Perhaps as contemporary as footwear today comes – the anti-throwback if you will – the sneaker’s upper boasts Ultraknit technology creating a sock like visual and corresponding comfort factor, while the sole is made from DMXfoam, a similarly modern component offering lightweight cushioning.

Launched with the kind of party that happens but once a year (if you’re lucky), the US based rapper headed to London to kickstart celebratory proceedings, performing live at Shoreditch’s Village Underground earlier this month. Making like Riri, Team Future then boarded a private jet, complete with Team British Music Industry – Wonderland amongst them – and fled to New York, with a follow up party in NYC…

Available today in a week’s worth of colours – think coal, light solid grey, collegiate royal, black, power red, fire coral and flat grey (the latter a women’s only version) – the Reebok Classic Zoku Runner’s moniker hails from Sino-Japanese, with ‘Zoku’ referring to a tribe, clan or family (feels apparent on the group trip abroad), while the crosscheck outer is a reference to the brand’s DNA, inspired by a flock of birds and symbolising momentum, translated here via a moulded TPU cage.
