PRADA MADE TO ORDER DéCOLLETé

The brand’s DIY service gets a print update.

The sports heavyweights might have adopted the trend as their own, but fashion’s high and mighty have long been making footwear to order, case in point, Prada, a brand so excelling at the practice that it’s decided to expand, with a new series of options joining the Made to Order Décolleté collection this week.

A Harrods exclusive arriving in May, the complete line-up boasts 18 styles – pumps and sandals, with or without platforms – and eight differing heel heights, while the range of iconic Prada prints available now includes the Flower, Kiss and Lips patterns, each produced on a leather base.

Not only can fans pick the most obvious (and perhaps glamorous) features of their new shoes – those wanting pumps have six different shades to choose from, as well as the addition of a bejewelled buckle to determine – but the real cobbler wannabes can get their kicks out of picking the colour of the sole, adding their initials and, debuting this season, charms, their date of birth or their lucky number in an amber or steel shade.

Purchasing a gift or feeding your own hoarding tendencies? You’re in luck, match your new shoes to a box of the same print, or go classic with a simple blue box, elastic band and metal plaque. Chic.
