Premiere: Liza Flume – "Sheets (Elaine Mai Remix)"

The brilliant track gets a melodic makeover.

Irish artist Elaine Mai is taking the electronic world by storm. Having released her last EP in 2014, she has been working on various remixes and collaborations and is set to release her new EP “The Colour Of The Night” this year.

To give us a taste of what’s to come, Elaine has released the stunning visuals to her remix of Liza Flume’s track “Sheets”. As Elaine says, “From the first time I heard Liza sing, I knew I wanted to work with her one day. I adored ‘Sheets’ when I heard it, and wanted to add another dimension to the vocal and emphasise the pain and loss in the track.” Highlighting the story through melodic rhythm and repetition, Elaine has created a truly beautiful and moving track.

Directed by the amazing Bob Gallagher, the accompanying video adds another level to the story, showing the pain of the lyrics through the depiction of the deterioration of a relationship. Elaine spoke to us about her thoughts on the LGBT movement in Ireland, saying, “The Marriage Equality campaign was such an amazing thing to witness and be part of, it’s something I’ll never forget. People from all over the country came together, worked together, campaigned, fund raised and canvassed together and changed the constitution here in Ireland. Ireland, a country that only decriminalized homosexuality in 1993 now has full marriage equality. We are living proof that real change and real progress is possible when people pull together.”

If this is any indication of what Elaine’s new EP has in store, we can’t wait for its release.
