CLARE WAIGHT KELLER FOR GIVENCHY

Riccardo Tisci’s successor has been named.

French fashion house Givenchy has just announced – to its 7.7 million Instagram followers no less – that British designer, Clare Waight Keller is the new Artistic Director. This follows the designer’s six year stint at Chloé, for whom she showed her finale collection during the recent Paris Fashion Week.

The position at Givenchy had formerly been held by Riccardo Tisci; the Italian designer who brought sex-appeal and a hoard of celebrities to the fashion house since joining in 2005. Tisci (who is widely expected to move to Versace), announced his departure from the brand in February.

In a statement released shortly after the Insta announcement, Keller stated: “Hubert de Givenchy’s confident style has always been an inspiration and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this legendary house’s history. I look forward to working with the teams and writing a new chapter in this beautiful story.”
