Prada exists, according to the powers up top (of the PR chain at least) ‘in the tension between the vernacular and the universal’, a theme that is at the core of its latest fragrance drop, Les Mirages. A line-up of four new scents to add to the brand’s already iconic Prada Olfactories collection, the series has been created by Miuccia Prada in collaboration with perfumer Daniela Andrier.
A reimaging of the art of scent as a global atlas, each formula, to the pair’s minds at least, represents a pin on a fictional map, elsewhere reinterpreting codes associated with Orient fragrances in four Olfactories: Midnight Train is hot and dry and Miracle of the Rose features notes of Rose Absolute and Patchouli, while Soleil au Zenith is a sensory overload and Dark Light boasts Musk and real Madagascar.
A Selfridges exclusive, each bottle arrives in midnight blue-tinted glass with brand appropriate gold details, enveloped in a silk pouch adorned in Prada graphics.
