Premiere: Kikagaku Moyo – "In A Coil"

The refreshing sound of Japanese band, Kikagaku Moyo.

For Kikagaku Moyo, creating music has always been a raw and experimental process. From busking on the streets of Tokyo to spending several days and nights holding psychedelic jams in a basement in Prague; these musicians take what comes naturally. Their upcoming EP “Stone Garden” (to be released April 21st) is exactly that. Five unique songs taken from the freeform performances in the basement, woven together and refined in the band’s home in Tokyo.

Kikagaku Moyo (translated as ‘geometric patterns’) is a band with a broad spectrum of influences – classical Indian music, traditional folk and 70’s rock, to name a few. Their latest offering, “In A Coil”, is a mesmerising sitar-led track that joyfully blends all of these genres. A welcome reminder that warmer temperatures are soon approaching, “In A Coil” is a track that would fit perfectly onto many summer playlists. Catch them on their U.K. leg of the tour in June.
