Copenhagen-born Mattis Jakobsen is about to become your new favourite singer. The 6 foot 8″ former punk rocker has hung up his studded leather jacket and adopted a new sound formed from his passion for electronic, soul and pop music.

His debut single “Loverboy” is a stunningly soulful track. With raw and powerful vocals, Mattis has created a track which is extremely personal and moving. When asked about the inspiration behind it, Mattis told us, “‘Loverboy’ is a personal story of mine, from around 3 years ago, where I had broken up with my girlfriend at that time, lost my apartment and was at a crossroad musically and in life generally. I lived in basements, studios, friends’ couches and therefore I would often end up going out all night, partying and ending up with various girls. The bars, the clubs, the parties and most of all the attention from other girls were fun while they lasted, since I, for a couple of hours, would forget my situation, only to wake up the day after and feel that everything I love, became everything I lost.”
