The backstage dream has long been shattered, anyone with an iPhone or decent internet connection today can be privy to the behind the scenes dealings at the best fashion shows courtesy, not infrequently, of the models with the biggest names; a picture of a super tucking into a sarnie no longer holds the same weight it might have, circa say 1997.

Props to team Gosha Rubchinskiy then, for a new short that goes further than the curtain, following three of the men who answered his open casting for January’s AW17 show, the designer’s first held in his native Russia since 2009. A collaboration with INRUSSIA, an organisation that poses ‘an alternative view to Russia’, the film was produced by director duo Papaya Dog with cinematographer Maxim Tomash. Coming in at just under 10 minutes, we urge you to watch.
