This week sees Camper launching the latest in its TWINS Artists collaboration, as makeup and interdisciplinary artist Isamaya Ffrench comes on board for the daring SS17 collection. An iconic Camper concept spanning over 20 years, TWINS has developed with leaders from the creative worlds of art, design and fashion, while Ffrench’s own experimental approach to beauty has made the 27-year-old the perfect partner for this season’s bold, new sneaker. Currently Creative Artistic Consultant for Tom Ford Cosmetics, Ffrench has previously collaborated with iconic brands such as Hermes, Moncler and YSL Beauté.
Shot by Josh Wilks, the new campaign is a striking synthesis of Ffrench’s own athletic upbringing, having trained in high board diving, martial arts and dancing from an early age. Here Ffrench challenges the norm with her designs, evoking the image of a traditional football boot and adorning it with a chunky sole and Arabic on the side reading “sport” and “twins”. “I wanted to shoot it in an epic, glacial environment to give the shoes a king of narrative,” says Ffrench as she explains the Icelandic landscape against which she models her waterproof designs. Available in three colours, the capsule line is available now from CamperLab, selected stores and online at camper.com.
