MFW: PRADA AW17

Miuccia makes cosy chic at Prada’s AW17 show.

Cords Calling

A collection built on house codes – from the silhouettes that poured past to the beading and that very specific Miuccia Prada approved shade of turquoise that made its latest cameo – the opening looks at Prada erred sideways, debuting a strong corduroy flare/knitted bra duo that looked fit for a particularly racy geography lecture; complete with matching blazers and longer length jackets, the aesthetic was pure 70s.

Mo Hair For Your Dollar

Something of a rule breaker – rule maker? – Mrs Prada’s latest display went in hard for full look mohair, and, like pretty much everything she does (with time), it worked a treat. Pairing pencil skirts with button up cardi’s and throwing in knitted under tops too, the look matched up rainbow colours with more subtle shades, and came complete with a sprinkling of granny inspired beading.

Fur Real

Even at its silliest, Prada retains a proper ladylike manner, and AW17 faired no different. From the furry belts and marabou feather dotted hemlines (the latter all the better to swish with), to the Eskimo inspired hooded numbers via the lone hoods, shoes and bags, few looks escaped. Which is no bad thing, given cold weather is part and parcel of the seasons autumn through to winter. Pure fire emoji.
