NYFW: Nicopanda AW17

Nicopanda brings a bit of 90s nostalgia to New York.

90s Nostalgia

Nicola Formichetti is throwing it back for New York Fashion Week with the introduction of the Nicoboy collection. Inspired by skate parks, MTV, 90s Britpop and 80s J-Pop, the collection recalls an era when puffer jackets and thrift store finds were the uniform. Featuring embroidered bomber jackets and lo-fi t-shirts, this lineup has all you need to be the cool grunge kid that you’ve always wanted to be.

“Less Fashion, More Street”

Creating looks that Brick Lane hipsters will be pining after, Formichetti described how they were “rearranging the vibe” for AW17 making outfit choices that would look fab both on and off the runway. Special shout out to the “fuck you gloves” with only the middle finger covered and the instantly iconic huge Panda scarf.

Primary Palette

The collection was a beautiful mix of simple, yet stunning, colours. The mix of pinks, blacks, whites, reds, and bright blues brought it back to basics whilst letting the striking outfit designs shine. It was bold, yet not in your face, and we absolutely loved it.
