Girls just wanna have fun! And wear bright coloured fur on the beach! And dress up in dazzling petal smothered swimming caps! Or at least that’s how Miu Miu is envisioning SS17, and frankly we love it. Tapping director and photographer Alasdair McLellan for his third Miu Miu campaign adventure, the brand’s latest short boasts an all-star cast that includes the actress Elle Fanning alongside supers Karen Elson, Caroline Murphy and Lara Stone.

Shot in Point Dume, Malibu, the film, titled ‘Suddenly Next Summer’, features not only the best of Miu Miu’s new season offering (think vintage inspired swimwear and statement poolslides), #winning smiles and a fluffy dog, but likewise a solid soundtrack: here big band jazz in the form of Benny Goodman’s 1937 rendition of “Sing, Sing, Sing” and a voiceover from a British Pathé story circa 1940 are cut with more contemporary sounds to create a unique sonic experience.

Seen through a home movie inspired lens, the short is a much needed dose of jolly enthusiasm that’ll have you longing for summer’s arrival and thinking up ways to magic an entire new wardrobe.
