The French beauty brand and the forever beautiful Angelina Jolie have come together for Guerlain’s new perfume, Mon Guerlain. The partnership was agreed in December 2015, when Angelina was in Cambodia (the birthplace of her son Maddox, fyi) directing her film “First They Killed My Father”. With Guerlain rooted in Angelina’s childhood memories due to her own mother’s love of Guerlain powder, it’s no surprise that Jolie’s love of the brand has led the two beauty icons to unite.
Guerlain’s Master Perfumer, Thierry Wasser, took inspiration from Jolie to create a fragrance expressing the “notes of a woman” and modern femininity. Set to be released in March 2017, the new perfume is still shrouded in mystery, much like Angelina herself.
“We create perfumes for women we admire,” Jacques Guerlain states, and there isn’t a woman more admirable than Angelina Jolie. Not only is she an actress, film maker, and mother of six, but she is also a special envoy of the UN Refugee Agency and the co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative. Being the inspiring and generous person that she is, Jolie is donating all of her salary from the Guerlain campaign to charity. We could all do with being a bit more like Angelina.
