Go behind the scenes of Alison Wonderland’s Australian tour!
With sold out headline shows around Australia, New Zealand and the USA, it’s been a big year for Alison Wonderland. The DJ and producer, who’s new single “Messiah” is an absolute banger FYI, has been travelling the world, performing at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Coachella, Electric Forest and Tomorrowland, capturing the hearts of dance music lovers around the global. With a debut album that reached #1 on the US Billboard Dance Chart AND the iTunes electronic chart, it’s not surprising that her much-anticipated second album is predicted to be one of the biggest dance releases of the year.
We wish we could have gone with Alison Wonderland on her recent Australian tour, but seeing as we couldn’t, here’s a photo diary of what she got up to on the road!
“I flew to Australia from LA and played my first show in Lorne, Victoria.. I was jet-lagged so it kinda made me feel even more crazy. It was the first time I had played in my own country for a while so I felt extra nervous as I was trying out a lot of unreleased tracks. Such a crazy show.”
(LEFT) “Here’s me backstage in my trailer with a vix stick up my nose because.. well I like putting vix up my nose to clear my sinus. It’s one of my traditions before I play. Alongside jumping up and down in a corner a lot and chewing green gum. Whatever. I’m weird.”
(RIGHT) “The next day was New Year’s Eve. It was one of the craziest shows I had played in a while. There were bodies on top of bodies and everyone was ready to have a crazy 2017.”

(LEFT) “No sleep.. next stop Sydney .. MY HOMETOWN. I always get so nervous to play my home city because it’s where I started and I want to do everyone proud… first thing I see when I walk into the festival is a very special trailer. Red Bull and I collaborated to design a PORTABLE STUDIO so artists could get together at festivals and create. Finally it had arrived. Tears were possibly shed.”
(RIGHT) “Day off in Sydney. I got to visit my favourite beach in Sydney.. here’s a terrible photo I took on my iPhone.”
“Back on the road to play Byron Bay. It was raining and everyone was drenched but no one cared and we all went a little crazy. My favourite show from the tour for sure.”
“The next day I stopped off to visit my friend who also happens to collect really cool motorbikes. Here’s me hungover and pretending I’m in Sons Of Anarchy.”
(LEFT) “Back in Sydney now… I went to watch my friend Denzel Curry play a crazy show at a club called The Basement. Here’s us chilling backstage clearly very interested in something. After the show we ended up in the studio until about 6am. Denzel is an amazing rapper from Miami, go check his stuff out.”
(MIDDLE) “The next night I played a surprise B2B set with What So Not and Hayden James. It was at a club we were all residents at before anyone wanted to come to our shows. It’s where we started and grew. We played all the music we used to play, a real bloghaus set. It was a sweaty 300 cap room and it still smelt and felt the same. I love those type of shows.”
(RIGHT) “Last day in Sydney before I headed back to the states so I sat by the water. I love Australia”
