LFWM: Sibling AW17

Reign true, pearly kings and queens of Sibling.

The London Monarchy

For a brand so distinctly London as Sibling, it wasn’t surprising that for their AW17 collection (which now serves as the fusion between their mens and womens collections) they gave a nod to the pearly kings and queens of the East End. While Barbara Windsor was cited as a main influence – check the cheetah print and gaudy colour pairings – Princess Diana was also a hero, with her effortless and timeless Royal style cited in the knit ruffle chokers, knits and double-breasted suiting. It really was a collection “fit for all Windsors.”

Barcelona!

With their move to showcasing their womenswear as part of the mens collections, Sibling have had the time to take a summer holiday, each of them taking trips to the artistic haven of Barcelona. Taking time to soak up the rich cultural history of the city, and marvel at the Gaudí mosaics at Park Güell, the team brought back a wealth of Catalan influences to inspire their lurex-sheen cycling pants, cheetah-print loose harnesses and the overwhelming overload of decoration that adorned the collection.

Chic For Sibling

This Autumn/Winter 2017 collection was a step in a more chic direction for Sibling. After the knitted speedos and buff chests of SS17, Sibling grew up and entered a world of adult sophistication. Slightly more calm than Sibling’s previous offerings, the AW17 collection saw midi skirts flittering around calves and grown-up silhouettes. Don’t worry though, there were still a few layers missing and that harness.
