Sita Abellan

We grab a moment with the super cute, super alternative Sita Abellan.

With her unique, edgy style, manifesting itself in electric blue hair and an eclectic, gorgeously grunge wardrobe, Sita Abellan is the model of the moment.

Originating from Southern Spain, Abellan is fast establishing herself in a diversity of creative fields, including music, fashion and insta-art. The self-proclaimed ‘techno princess’ has amassed over 230k Instagram followers, appeared in Rihanna’s iconic BBHMM video and has also worked her magic as a guest designer for MISBHV.

We were lucky enough to spend the morning with Sita while she makes a quick pit-stop in London.

Tell us a bit about how you got into modelling?

I got into modelling when I was 16, and everything has happened because of the internet. I used to take portraits for myself in my moms clothes and uploaded them to Tumblr and Facebook, so I got contact with the fashion industry because of that.

What is your favourite thing about being a model?

I like being a model because I love fashion so I enjoy when I go to a shoot and I see how different creatives work together, and then of course the clothes!

Do you get to travel a lot?

Yes, I travel a lot, also because I DJ. It’s a little bit exhausting because I am never home but it is fun and you meet a lot of people and I never get bored.

You were Rihanna’s BBHMM video, tell us a bit about what that was like?

Well Rihanna’s music video was super funny! She was super nice and so it was super cool to work with her and all the team, the directors were amazing too! The results were super cool so I’m really happy about it.

What was the atmosphere like on set?

To me, my character was just me, so it was fun. It was cool. It was like five days of filming so it was a long, long thing but we had fun filming it.

What has been the most fun or exciting thing that you’ve done so far in your career?

Everything I do I enjoy a lot, but I think designing clothes. The collection I made with MISBHV. That’s what I would look to do in the future.

Leading perfectly, on to our last question, what are your ambitions for the future?

Well, I want to be a creative director. I still want to work in fashion but as a creative director!
