Sparkling and structured, Viktor & Rolf’s first delve into the world of perfumery and scent creation is as avant garde and beautiful as the brand itself – and has just celebrated it’s 10th birthday. Wanting to create a perfume with the same elements as their couture (a strong, directional foundation, embellished with intricate and elaborate decoration), Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, who’s fascination with flowers led them to research the idea of the “flower bomb”, created a scent that takes on the qualities of explosion of flowers – with a thousand petals in one bottle (yes, one thousand!). In the way that their couture creations are the ultimate luxury, Flowerbomb is their highest form of olfactory opulence.
Using the attraction of opposites that Viktor & Rolf are famous for, Flowerbomb is “an antidote to today’s reality, an expression of our dreams.” Created by three perfumery experts – Olivier Polge, Carlos Benaim and Domitille Bertier – the concept is simple, but the result is floral extravagance. With notes including tea, bergamot, Sambac jasmine, freesia, patchouli and a thousant Centifolia rose petals, Flowerbomb is an intensely rich and divine bouquet of oriental, floral and fruity notes that match perfectly with the brand new, surreally beautiful campaign featuring model Andreea Diaconu, photographed by legendary photographers and frequent collaborators Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. Alluring, delicate, but packed with a powerful floral punch, Flowerbomb is heavenly.
