Wonderland.

Premiere: Sweet Tempest – "Empty Box"

The dream pop duo release their stirring new single awash in hazy, ethereal soundscapes.

Luna and Julian spend their time music making time holed up in her apartment under the influence of whiskey and coffee and dim lights (actually the dream?) The Danish duo have a pretty other-worldly feel, which is probably the reason they featured so beautifully on Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon soundtrack. Their latest single ‘Empty Box’ is a little early 2000’s in terms of backtrack – a celestial, fluid electronic arrangement coupled with an atmospheric underlying bass. It creates a sort of texture, a dark, liquid sound, as if enveloped in an underwater fog. Luna’s vocals are thick and breathy, like they’re coated in a cloud (think Frou Frou), coming to us from a hundred miles away. The track leaves an unmistakably bittersweet and satisfying aftertaste on the tongue, so get tasting.
