Raised in New York, Frankie Cosmos is the millennial offering a fresh voice to the indie-rock scene. Born Greta Kline to Hollywood acting parents Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates, she was a frequent attendee of underground NY rock gigs and started on her musical journey from an early age, often outputting music on BandCamp under a string of different aliases. Basically, she was actually as cool a teenager as we all liked to think we were. After signing to Double Double Whammy records, she adopted the super cute alias of Frankie Cosmos and released her debut LP “Zentropy” in 2014, touching on love, aging and being a young life in an old city.

This year, the 22-year-old released her acclaimed second album, “Next Thing”, which has firmly placed her on the map as an American rising star. The follow-up offers moody yet angelic vocals layered over catchy indie-rock beats and highlights her intergalactic creativity and individuality. If it’s anything near the indie-pop delight that was her debut, Frankie Cosmos is treating us big time.
