True to form, L.A. electro-pop artist Monogem’s new single “Wild” is a funk-fuelled, airy tune that’s more than a little addictive. The track starts mellow and chilled, but gets increasingly spirited with its sprinklings of high synth notes and those Prince-esque guitar licks. The pace picks up quickly, with a steady, rippling rhythm that builds into a feeling that’s altogether intoxicating. It almost feels like something free and untamed is bubbling up to the surface of the song (that light flute at the end feels pretty mischievous) that really can’t be contained.

“Wild” is a track about getting your mojo back, lighting up that inner spark and letting your hair down.  “I wrote Wild as an anthem for myself and for anyone who has a hard time finding rest in being reckless. It takes hold of that childlike spirit within you and puts it on centre stage – unapologetically daring you to live up to your own standard.” We feel you, Monogem.
