Richard Nicoll

World-renowned designer Richard Nicoll has sadly passed away.

London-born, Australia-raised designer Richard Nicoll, a designer best known for his wonderfully modernist and sculptural designs, has sadly passed away. After graduating from the Central St Martins MA Womenswear course in 2002, Nicoll went on to found his eponymous label in 2005, creating spectacular womens and mens lines – which were some of the most popular shows at London Fashion Week for nearly a decade. His designs encompassed contemporary trends and fused them together with his innovative design aesthetic to mark him as one of this century’s most loved designers.

His talents weren’t just limited to his own label; from 2009 to 2011, Nicoll served as the creative director of luxury Parisian label Cerruti, as well as working in freelance design for Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton, in addition to a creative director role at Jack Wills. Due to start a creative director role at Adidas in January, Nicoll’s talents extended far beyond the realms of high end fashion. His innovative and unique talents have left their mark on the creative industries, where his inspiration will carry on. He will be missed.
