Tuff City Kids, the German club veteran duo, have been making waves flow on dancefloors and speakers bounce over the last few years. Made up of Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer, the duo are the masters mixing instrumental cuts and hints of elements spanning multiple dance-pop eras to create electronic tracks that has allowed them to built severe dancefloor heat. Their talents also extend into remixing, having worked with the likes of Scuba, Avalon Emerson, Sinkane, The Juan Maclean and Azari & III – Tuff City Kids know exactly what they’re doing.
“Tell Me”, one of the highlight’s of Tuff City Kids’ new album “Adoldesscent”, is a feat unto itself. Featuring Joe Goddard of Hot Chip as the vocalist, “Tell Me” is a 6-minute long bouncy dance track with a catchy bassline and smatterings of deep house elements. Taking elements from all aspects of the electronic music spectrum and mashing them together in a playfully soulful sound that is as addictive as it is well-crafted. It’s was every electronic house track should be.
