Premiere: DOOXS – "Dirt"

Treat your ears to DOOXS’s icy electronica and minimal beats with their new track “Dirt”.

DOOXS are brand new. Quite literally, brand new: they only formed in August 2015. Despite being in their infancy as a duo, DOOXS know exactly what their sound is and execute it with perfection. The duo’s fusion of ambient and techno, which is melded together with influences from a whole range of genres (particularly classic R&B), creates an unusual icy electronica, with deep, bone-chilling basses and minimal beats. Formed of Rotterdam-based singer-songwriter Djoeke and producer Aniek, DOOXS like nothing more than experimentation, rule-breaking and fusing together genres that most would never think to blend. Who said indie-folk influences didn’t go with IDM beats?

“Dirt” is proof that DOOXS know exactly what they are doing. Kicking off with a light beat and Djoeke’s light and airy vocals that will transport you into a dream-like trance, “Dirt” has everything that an electronic track should. The dark synths and icy electronics are intricately layered and build up to a chorus of intense vocals layered over deep basses, blending background textures and hints of dub. “Dirt” is a track where the bass shakes your bones and you’re taken away from the world into a electronic, dub-infused, minimal paradise.

“Dirt” is out 21st October and DOOXS EP “Under My Tongue” is out 25th November.
