NYFW: Jeremy Scott SS17

Jeremy Scott does slime and sex for SS17.

Sticky

Slime covered crop tops, mini dresses with three quarter length sleeves and “slime city” sweatshirts walked the runway at the Spring 2017 Jeremy Scott. Nickelodeon received a thank you in the show’s run down, thanks to the Slime Time Live (an old show from the network) inspired pieces. But being Scott, that was by no means the only pop culture reference he riffed on for the season.

Bringing Sexy Back

The Jeremy Scott girl is a lot sexier than Nicktoons this season. The color palette is darker with black being the most consistent color running throughout the collection with pops of hot pink and graphics prints. Black and white tees and mini dresses with long sleeves had Rated X plastered across the chest and one piece bathing suits and men’s graphic tee’s read “hot hot hot” in big letters. Leather pants, a sexy lady legs print, dresses covered in cut-outs and a bright red trench coat that gave the illusion that you’d wear your birthday underneath it added to the sex vibe.

Minty Fresh

Jeremy Scott even added gimmicky pieces–he regularly saves those ideas for Moschino in Milan. For Spring 2017, it was toothpaste. Colgate inspired handbags, sweaters and hooded sweatshirts would sell like hot cakes if turned into a direct-to-customer capsule collection, a phone case or release six months from now when spring has sprung.
